An Icelandic community initiative engaging globally in technology and gender equality

WomenTechIceland began as a solution to a need within the technology community in Iceland to bring together segmented interest groups across Iceland. The goal was to ensure, in addition to our own events, that the events and activities of the many powerful STEM organizations in the community, from those at our Universities to those within corporations and various government initiatives, reached the members of each group and created a stronger, unified community.

Additionally, we unite the non-Icelandic speaking and Icelandic speaking segments of the technology community within Iceland, for greater collaboration, partnership and to acknowledge the diversity within Iceland’s population.

Participating and attending WomenTechIceland events  and engaging with our online community has enabled many people locally to strengthen relationships, seek new career opportunities and find impeccable talent.

Likewise, WomenTechIceland has become a first-contact for international organizations and individuals working in technology and gender equality to gain an understanding of and connection with these communities in Iceland. We have partnered with some of the world’s best organizations to coordinate, host, partner and speak at compelling events.

We frequently cross-promote and partner with other community groups locally and internationally to the benefit of both, enabling new relationships to form, deepening the global view and understanding of the Iceland tech ecosystem abroad.
